Danbury, Conn. - November 2, 2016 - Springfield College's Ciara Boucher (Manchester, Conn.) and Lauren Holt (Granby, Conn.) were recognized for their efforts by earning regional accolades from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).
Boucher was tabbed as the ECAC Corvias Division III New England Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, while Holt was chosen as the ECAC Corvias Division III New England Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.
Boucher, a junior goalkeeper and Psychology major at Springfield College, helped the Pride to a 2-0 week, including shut-out victories over Roger Williams and Wellesley. Boucher, who is ranked in the top three in the NEWMAC in goals-against average, save percentage and total goals allowed, posted eight saves on the week, as the Pride has not allowed a goal in the last 380 minutes of play.
In wins over Amherst and Wellesley, Holt anchored a defense that held its opponents to a combined .119 hitting percentage and totaled 15 blocks and 15 kills. Her week was highlighted by a dominating performance at Wellesley, as the Athletic Traning major tied her career high 12 blocks, the third-highest total in a four-set match in all of Division III this season.
