Bristol, R.I. - July 17, 2017 - Roger Williams University on Monday announced that Kristin "Kiki" Jacobs will become RWU's Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation on Aug. 7.
Since 2010, Jacobs has served as associate athletics director at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., and from 2006-2010 she was associate athletics director at Oberlin College, in Oberlin, Ohio. Prior to that, she worked as aquatics director and head women's swimming coach at Washington & Lee University, in Lexington, Va.
Jacobs has been named coach of the year 11 times – five times in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and six times in the Atlantic States Championships. She received a bachelor's degree from Dickinson College, a master's degree in physical education from Western Illinois University and a master's of business administration from Fitchburg State University.
"Since making her mark on Division III athletics as a student-athlete and coach, Kiki has developed into an accomplished athletic administrator who is poised to make an impact Roger Williams," said Springfield College Director of Athletics, Craig Poisson. "I was very fortunate in my first two years as Director of Athletics to have Kiki on my staff, respect her for always having the welfare of the student-athlete on the forefront, and appreciate all her efforts on behalf of the Springfield College community, particularly our student-athletes, over the past seven years. I wish her the best of luck."
Since arriving at Springfield College in 2010, Jacobs has been very active on the national stage. A member of the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Committee Member since 2016, Jacobs was on the NCAA Division III nominating committee from 2011-2015, serving as the chair in 2015. Additionally, she currently serves on the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) Executive Committee.
At Springfield, Jacobs was charged with completing all institutional, NCAA and federal reports, such as the EADA, NCAA Institutional Self-Study, NCAA Demographic Report, NCAA Financial Report. Additionally, she helped oversee the Student Athlete Leadership Team and the Athletic Hall of Fame. Jacobs was a member of the First Year Experience Committee since 2011 and a member of the Springfield College Administrative & Professional Staff Committee. Additionally, she served as the chair of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Compliance Committee from 2013-2016.
