Springfield College Athletics To Hold "True Pride Challenge" From October 19-22

Springfield, Mass. - October 17, 2017 - The Springfield College Department of Athletics is excited to unveil the 2017 True Pride Challenge, which will take place from Thursday, October 19 to Sunday, October 22.  This year's challenge will pit the current student-athlete population at Springfield College against the alumni population who participated in athletics during their time on Alden Street.

All gifts from July 1, 2017 – October 22, 2017 to a specific team, Friends of Springfield College Athletics, as well as "special projects" are credited towards the challenge, and one can make a minimum gift of $10 on-line by visiting TruePride or by calling the Office of Development at 413-748-5279.   Additionally, for those on campus this weekend for Homecoming, gifts may be made via credit card, check or cash in an envelope and delivered in-person to the Athletics Office, Advancement Office (lower level of Marsh Memorial) or at True Pride Challenge Tables at Homecoming registration, select athletic contests, as well as at the Gymnastics Exhibition Show.

The total giving percentage of the current student-athletes and student-athlete alumni will be measured, with thousands of challenge dollars waiting to be unlocked, based on the participation.

If the student-athletes have a larger giving percentage than the alums, the prize pool will be distributed amongst the teams.  If the alumni have a larger percentage, the prize pool will go towards one of the major planned projects that will benefit the current and future student-athletes at Springfield College.
