Tringali and Wunderlich Selected to NEWMAC Cross Country All-Sportsmanship Team

Springfield, Mass. - November 1, 2017 - Springfield College's Chris Tringali (Millville, Mass.) and Hannah Wunderlich (Methuen, Mass.) were recently honored by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), as each was selected to the NEWMAC Cross Country All-Sportsmanship Team, announced on Wednesday.

The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.

Tringali, a sophomore Physical Therapy major at Springfield College, has been steady for the Pride all season long, and helped lead the Maroon and White to a fifth-place finish at the NEWMAC Cross Country Championship meet this past Sunday, hosted at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. At the race, Tringali was the Pride's fifth finisher of the afternoon, clocking in at 28:35 on the 8k course.

Wunderlich, a junior Health Science major at Springfield College, helped the Pride to a seventh-place finish at the NEWMAC Cross Country Championships this past weekend, as she notched a time of 20:10 on the 5k course. The seventh-place finish for Springfield College marked the best since 2014.

Springfield College will spend the next 10 days gearing up for the NCAA Division III Regional Championships, which will be hosted at Gorham Country Club just outside of Portland, Maine on Saturday, November 11.
