Junior Jack Weinberger (Sunapee, N.H.) was equally impressive, as he came on to pick up the final four outs for the Pride, all strike outs, to earn his second save of the season.
After two scoreless innings to start the contest, Russo got Springfield College on the board with an RBI single to score Kyle Allen (Westerly, R.I.), before the Pride extended its lead to three in the top of the eighth on an RBI double from Shade to score Peter Marsicano (Allentown, N.J.) and a sacrifice fly from King that plated Russo.
Emerson picked up a run in the bottom of the ninth to cut its deficit to two, but Weinberger shut down the Lions, picking up his fourth strikeout to end the game.
