Springfield, Mass. - December 7, 2016 - Standout freshman Taylor Conley (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) of the Springfield College field hockey program continues to be recognized for her impressive first season with the Pride, as she was named to the Synapse Sports Field Hockey National All-Rookie Team, announced earlier this week.
Conley, a Physical Therapy major and freshman forward at Springfield College, was one of just four student-athletes from the New England region to be named to the All-Rookie Team. This marks the third postseason honor for Conley, as she was also one of eight freshman in all of Division III to earn National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region honors.
Additionally, Conley was named the 2016 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Rookie of the Year, while also picking up Second Team All-Conference honors. Conley became the first Springfield College field hockey student-athlete to earn NEWMAC Rookie of the Year honors since Jillian Urtz '09 earn the recognition following the 2005 season.
In her first season with the maroon and white, Conley notched 15 goals and three assists to tie with Kennedy for a team-leading 33 points. Conley's 15 markers is the most from a freshman in Springfield College field hockey Division III program history.
