Springfield, Mass. - October 23, 2017 - Springfield College's Maggie Kennedy (Clay, N.Y.) has been recognized by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) for her impressive play last week, and was named the NEWMAC and ECAC Division III North Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon.
Kennedy, a senior forward and Physical Education major at Springfield College, led the Pride to three wins, including its 11th of the year, marking the most wins the program has seen since Springfield College claimed 12 victories in 2009. Kennedy registered 15 points in the three games, with seven goals and added an assist. The senior forward notched a pair in a 4-2 win over Clark, before posting two goals and an assist in a 7-1 result with Johnson & Wales. Closing out the week, Kennedy posted three goals in a 5-2 win over Wheaton on Saturday.
This week, Springfield College will host Salem State on Tuesday, October 24 at 4 p.m. before returning to Stagg Field on Saturday, October 28 for a 1 p.m. contest with MIT.
