Ashe Named NEWMAC Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week

Springfield, Mass. - October 22, 2018 - Springfield College's Kyra Ashe (Longmeadow, Mass.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week after helping the Pride to a pair of important conference wins last week.

Ashe continued to be a key component of Springfield's offense as the first-year totaled five goals in two outings to push the Pride's winning streak to four games. The Sport Management major, who currently is the top-scoring freshman in all of college field hockey, pushed her season total to 18 goals last week and now has 37 points on the season.  Ashe netted two goals in a win over Clark and delivered her second hat trick of the season versus Wheaton on Saturday as the Pride moved into sole possession of second-place in the conference.

Springfield will play its final non-conference game of the regular season at Salem State on Tuesday at 7 pm.
