Springfield, Mass. - January 17, 2019 - Springfield College's Amanda Nusbaum (Conway, N.H.) led all of college field hockey in assists per game according to the final NCAA statistics. In what would prove to be a historic final campaign for the Nutrition major, Nusbaum averaged 1.28 assists per game after totaling 23 helpers in 18 outings.
Nusbaum put together a memorable senior season and established three new program records in 2018, including most assists in a game (4), most assists in a season (23), and most assists in a career (46). In fact, her 23 assists were the seventh most in a season in Division III field history.
This season, Nusbaum's 1.28 assists per game outdistanced Lynchburg's Nikki Simpao's average of 1.00 for best in Division III, while Nusbaum edged Wake Forest's Megan Anderson's mark of 1.26 for the best assist average in the entire nation.
Thanks to her play, Springfield put together a 12-6 record this season and had one of the best offensives in all of college field hockey en route to their best regular-season finish in 10 years.
