Brewster, Mass. - October 23, 2016 - The Springfield College men's golf team competed in the first day of the 82nd Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Division III Championships on Sunday.

The first round of the 36-hole stroke play event was played on the 6,724 yard, par 72 Port Course, and the teams will conclude the competition on Monday at the 6,776 yard, par 72 Starboard Course.

The Pride is tied for 12th out of the 20 teams in the field after posting a opening round total of 330 strokes. It was an especially consistent round for Springfield, as it's top four golfers were all separated by four strokes.
