Newington, Conn. - September 10, 2017 - The Springfield College golf team wrapped up the Bill Detrick Invitational hosted with a 10th-place finish at Indian Hill Country Club on Sunday.
Springfield's top four golfers combine for 331 strokes on the day to finish 10th out of the 11-team field.
Sophomore Mike Strong (Newington, Conn.) shot an 83 and had the Pride's best two-day score of 165. Travis Price (Reading, Mass.) closley followed with a 166 after his second-straight round of 83, while Matt Gazaille (Palmer, Mass.) shot an 81 on Sunday, the Pride's best showing of the day, and finished with a two-round score of 168.
Both Jake Raichle (Bethlehem, N.H.) and Greg Allen (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished with scores of 173, with Allen scoring an 84 on Sunday, while Doug Shane (Hamden, Conn.) wrapped up his weekend with a 174.
Springfield will compete in Middlebury, Vt. next weekend in the Duke Nelson Invitational.
