North Dartmouth, Mass. - April 20, 2019 - The Springfield College golf team concluded the spring portion of their season by tying for third at the UMass Dartmouth Lafrance Hospitality Invitational on Saturday.
Despite rainy and windy conditions, Springfield totaled 314 strokes, five better than Friday, at the Par 72 Allendale Country Club. Host UMass Dartmouth won the event with a two-day score of 623, Husson posted a 628, while both Springfield and Roger Williams tied with a 633. Endicott rounded out the top five with a 635.
Mike Strong (Newington, Conn.) wrapped up his tremendous junior season by tying for seventh among the 75 golfers in the event with a two-day mark of 154, highlighted by his opening round score of 75. Both Jake Raichle (Bethlehem, N.H.) and Corey Roya (Manchester, Conn.) finished in a tie for 14th, as Raichle put up Springfield's best score on Saturday with a 76 to end his tournament with a 158, while Roya turned in an 81 on Saturday.
