Four Represent Men's Gymnastics in Second Day of West Point Open

West Point, N.Y. - January 14, 2016 - Four members of the Springfield College men's gymnastics team competed in the individual finals portion of the 26th annual West Point Open at the United States Military Academy on Saturday evening.

First-year Stephen Lewis (Baltimore, Md.) had Springfield's best performance of the of the evening as he placed fifth on the pommel horse with a mark of 13.65.

On the rings, Joshua Dieker (Oviedo, Fla.) took sixth with a 13.45, while Jannik Haas (San Jose, Calif.) registered a 13.55 on the high bar to also finish in sixth place.  Giancarlo Lawrence (Jacksonville, Fla.) was the Pride's other representative in the individual finals and he placed seventh on the floor exercise after totaling an 11.750.

Springfield will now prepare to travel south and compete in the Navy Open next Saturday in Annapolis, Md.
