Lewis Earns Second-Straight ECAC Men's Gymnastics Rookie of the Week Honor

Danbury, Conn. - January 31, 2017 - For the second-consecutive week, Springfield College's Stephen Lewis (Baltimore, Md.) has been selected as the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men's Gymnastics Rookie of the Week, announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Lewis, who was named ECAC Men's Gymnastics Rookie of the Week following the Navy Open last weekend, was impressive in a dual meet against Penn State this past weekend, as he notched a career-best score of 78.900 in the all-around competition, consisting of personal best marks on the pommel horse (13.700), on the rings (13.400) and on the parallel bars (13.400). Additionally, Lewis registered a 12.850 on his floor exercise routine, followed by a 13.800 on vault and an 11.750 on the high bar.

Next up, Springfield College will host the New England Invitational Championships in Blake Arena on Sunday, February 5.
