Men's Gymnastics Lands Four All-Americans in USAG Championships Individual Finals

Seattle, Wash. - March 25, 2017- Five members of the Springfield College men's gymnastics team competed in the individual finals of the 2017 USA Gymnastics (USAG) Men's Collegiate Championships on Saturday afternoon at Everett Community College.

The top six finishers on each event were awarded USAG All-America honors, and Springfield produced four All-America performances on the day.

Chris Graff (Old Bridge, N.J.) had one of Springfield's top finishes of the session as he tied for fourth in the pommel horse after tallying a 13.050.  The junior also took eighth on the rings with an 11.850.  On the parallel bars, Jannik Haas (San Jose, Calif.) scored a 13.600 to garner All-America honors for the first time in his young career.

Freshman Corey Matthews (Kernerville, N.C.) took home All-America honors on the floor exercise, posting a 13.650, to finish fifth.  Another first-year, Stephen Lewis (Baltimore, Md.), earned national recognition when he tallied a 13.450 en route to a sixth-place finish on the vault.

Additionally, Phil Ordonez (Jacksonville, Fla.) respresented Springfield on the high bar and placed eighth with a 12.050.

Springfield will now gear up for the ECAC Championships, which will take place April 8 at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
