Springfield, Mass. - May 22, 2019 - Springfield College's Jannik Haas (San Jose, Calif.) was one of seven men's gymnasts from across the country recognized for his academic and athletic achievements as he received Google Cloud Academic All-District honors, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their competitive arenas and in the classroom. Haas is now placed on the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, which will be selected and announced in June. The only Division III men's gymnast to earn all-district honors, Haas was joined by student-athletes from Penn State, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Minnesota, Navy, and William & Mary.
It has been a decorated four-year career at Springfield for Haas, who recently graduated with a degree in Mathematics. Currently holding a 3.96 grade point average, Haas was an executive board member of Springfield's Student-Athlete Leadership Team and was a co-winner of the 2019 Tom Waddell "Leveling the Playing Field" Award, which is presented during Springfield's annual Sport and Social Justice Symposium. A two-time captain during his time with the men's gymnastics program, Haas was both a USAG and CGA All-America Scholar Athlete, and was a five-time All-America honoree at the USAG Championships.
