Reynolds Chosen as NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week

Boston, Mass. - Febraury 27, 2017 - Springfield College junior Jake Reynolds (Scituate, Mass.) was chosen as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week after leading the Pride to a win in its season opener on Saturday.

The Health Care Management major had a strong showing in Springfield's season opener as it knocked of Nazareth, who was receiving votes in the national poll, by an 11-10 score. The senior netminder made 14 stops, including eight in the first quarter to keep the hosts in the game early, and surrendered just four goals in the final 30 minutes to help the Pride preserve the season-opening triumph. This marked the eighth-straight season that the Pride has opened up the year with the victory.

Reynolds and the Pride will not play again until March 8 when it hosts Stevens at 4 pm on Stagg Field.
