Springfield, Mass. - October 10, 2017 - Springfield College's Stewart Frank (Pittsford, N.Y.) of the men's soccer team has been recognized for his impressive play last week and was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Frank, a junior goalkeeper and Sport Management major at Springfield College, was instrumental in a pair of wins for the Pride last week, leading the maroon and white to an overall record of 10-0-0 to start the year. In a 2-0 win over Framingham State on Tuesday, Frank had five saves and held the Rams scoreless in 45 minutes of play, before coming back to stifle MIT, holding them scoreless with three saves in 90 minutes of play.
This week, Springfield College will take on UMass Boston on Tuesday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m. before hosting Emerson on Saturday, Ocotber 14 at 12 p.m. and then will take on cross-town rival Western New England at Lusitano Stadium on Sunday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m.
