Amherst Knocks Off Men’s Swimming and Diving, 172-115, In Regular-Season Finale

Amherst, Mass. – February 5, 2012 – In Its regular-season finale, the Springfield College men’s swimming and diving team fell on the road to Amherst College, 172-115.

Jason Scotto had the top-finish of the day as he was was a runner-up in the 100 free after registering a time of 49.16..

In the 400 IM, John MacDonald placed third after touching in 4:37.66. The 200 free saw Josh Ernst swim a 1:47.48 to take third, while Kelly Dullard was a third-place finisher in the 100 back with a (57.77) and the 200 back (2:07.54).

Scott Mackstutis placed third in the 50 free with a 22.34 and Trevor Ferraro swam to a third-place time of 2:18.49 in the 200 breast.

In the three-meter diving event, Kenny Pancoast scored 279.00 points, which was good enough for third. Pancoast also registered a score of 265.72 on the one-meter.

Springfield will now taper and prepare for the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Feb. 17-19 hosted by MIT.
