Danbury, Conn. - January 28, 2015 - Senior diver Jack Lewis (Durham, N.H.) and freshman swimmer Kent Parsons (Hamilton, Mass.) have been recognized for their impressive performances this past Saturday in a 139-102 victory over Babson, as Lewis was named ECAC Division III New England Men's Diver of the Week, while Parsons was selected as the ECAC Division III New England Men's Rookie of the Week.
This marks the third time this season Lewis has garnered regional honors. A Recreation Management major at Springfield College, Lewis posted a pair of national qualifying scores to lead the Pride to victory. The senior notched a one-meter score of 339.20, before registering a 326.55 on the three-meter.
Parsons, an EMS Management major, had a stellar performance this past Saturday, as he finished first overall in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.61 seconds, before registering a pair of second-place finishes as part of the 200 free relay and 400 medley relay teams. In the medley, Parsons' relay finished in 3:24.34 before the 200 free relay team finished in 1:30.56.
The Springfield College women's and men's swimming and diving programs will head to Middlebury College this weekend to swim in the two-day invitational beginning Friday at 5:30 p.m.
