Normoyle Races To Honorable Mention All-America Honors in 100 Breast at NCAA Championships

Shenandoah, Texas - March 20, 2015 -  Michael Normoyle (Springfield, Mass.) earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 100 breast on Friday in the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Conroe ISD Natatorium.       

Competing in the consolation finals for the second time in his career on Friday night, Normoyle placed fifth to finish 13th overall after touching in 55.90.

In the morning prelims, Normoyle swam a school record time of 55.54 to finish 10th out of 32 competitors in the event.  The Biology major was seeded 21st after posting a qualifying time of then school record time 56.13 when he won the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship in the event.

In 2013, Normoyle was also an Honorable Mention All-America in the 200 breast after he placed 15th.

Normoyle will be back in the pool on Saturday for his third event of the weeke when he races in the 200 breast, an event he enters with a qualifying time of 2:02.23, which is the 12th-fastest time in the country this year.
