Springfield, Mass. - December 10, 2016 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team fell to Middlebury, 150-81, at home on Saturday evening.
The Pride was highlighted by three first-place performances from Kent Parsons (Hamilton, Mass.), who swam a 22.23 in the 50 free, a 53.66 in the 100 fly, and a 1:00.77 in the 100 breast. Roberto Morales (Westfield, Mass.) also took first in the 1000 free to start days competition, touching the wall in 10:24.66.
Austin Von Heeringen (Germantown, Md.) was victorious in the 100 back after posting a time of 55.42, and was also Springfield's top finisher in the 200 free, coming in third with a time of 1:50.64. Von Heeringen collected another third-place performance after producing a 2:07.97 in the 200 IM.
Freshman Sean Harnish (Middlebury, Conn.) led the Pride in the 100 Free with a 51.07, good for third place. This was folowed by another strong performance from Morales, as he came in third in the 500 Free with a time of 5:05.25.
In the diving events, Brian Laukaitis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) produced a score of 148.13 in the one-meter, and 162.75 in the three-meter.
The Pride are back in action on January 7, at home against Hartwick and Union.
