Four Men's Divers Compete In Opening Night of NCAA Diving Regional Championship

Cambridge, Mass. - March 1, 2019 - Four Springfield College men's divers competed on the three-meter board 2019 NCAA Division III Diving Regional Championship which took place at the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center Pool at MIT.

A total of 23 divers are competing for seven spots from the region to the 2019 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be held on March 20-23, 2019, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Springfield's four divers in the event tied for the most of any program in the region.

Leading the way on the three-meter board was Connor Pennington (Monson, Mass.), who finished fourth with a score of 513.80.  Teammate Luca Brashear (Amherst, Mass.) had a great showing in his first appearance on the regional stage as he placed seventh with a 461.70, while Valmore Stewart (Windsor, Conn.) took 14th after earning a 414.00.  Sean Andrews (Framingham, Mass.) rounded out the Pride's competitors as his score of 371.15 was good enough for 19th place. 

The action will continue on Saturday, with the men competing on the one-meter board starting at 4 pm.
