Williamstown, Mass. - May 13, 2017 - Led by an impressive performance from Jack Pinho (Prospect, Conn.) in the 800, the Springfield College men's track and field program competed in the All New England Championships at Williams College this past weekend.
Competing against student-athletes from Division I, II and III, Pinho crossed the finish line in 1:54.75 to finish second overall in his heat and 21st overall in the event. Also competing for the Pride this weekend was Tyler Hansen (Shelton, Conn.), who raced in the 100 meter dash prelims on Friday, and finished with a time of 11.03, before competing in the 200 meter prelims, where he crossed in 22.03 seconds.
Sophomore Daniel Lane (Southwick, Mass.) and freshman Hunter DuPont (Wynantskill, N.Y.) both competed in the 110 meter hurdles on Friday, as DuPont took seventh in his heat with a time of 15.88, before Lane took eighth in the same heat, crossing in 16.52.
Next, the Pride will compete in the ECAC Championships on May 17-18 at Westfield State University.
