Cambridge, Mass. - May 17, 2018 - Springfield College's Whit DeVaux (Wethersfield, Mass.) competed at the 2018 MIT Final Qualifying Meet on Thursday evening and took second overall in the event.
DeVaux didn't wait to have his best throw of the day, as he produced a mark of 60.39 meters in his first of six throws. The senior is currently ranked No. 8 in all of Division III with a mark of 63.41, which won him a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) title in the event.
DeVaux and classmate Jack Pinho (Prospect, Conn.) will now compete at the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championships, which will be hosted at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, beginning on Thursday, May 24.
