Staten Island, N.Y. - February 8, 2019 - The Springfield College men's track and field team had student-athletes competing at the Fastrack National Invitational on Friday evening at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Sophomore Ryan Vermette (Nashua, N.H.) started the day with a time of 9:30.27 in the men's 3k, as he was followed by Liam Murphy (Patterson, N.Y.), who crossed the finish line in 9:57.64. Kyle Macneil (Dedham, Mass.) posted a personal-best time of 53.50 in the 400 meter dash, while in the 200 meter dash, Ben Batoosingh (Scarborough, Maine) was the leader of a group of three with a time of 22.80, while Emmanuel Amenlemah (Pittsfield, Mass.) followed with a 23.22 and Bobby Bordieri (Johnston, R.I.) came in with a 24.64 performance.
Sophomore Damian Mackay-Morgan (Simsbury, Conn.) posted a time of 8.56 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles, before in the 60 meter dash, Batoosingh was the Pride's top finisher with a time of 7.27 seconds, followed by Authier's 7.37-second performance. Amenlemah was next with a 7.39.
In the field events, Daniel Stevenson (Meriden, Conn.) competed in the shot put and produced a heave of 10.19 meters, before posting a distance of 12.85 meters in the weight throw. Senior Jarod Authier (Chicopee, Mass.) was 15th overall in the long jump with a mark of 6.45 meters, while Josh Silvester (Manchester, Conn.) followed in the event with a jump of 6.39 meters. Silvester would go on to take ninth overall in the triple jump with a mark of 14.43 meters, which moved him up to No. 5 in all of Division III.
