Medford, Mass. - March 2, 2019 - Junior Tyler Hansen (Shelton, Conn.) won the 200 meter dash to lead a group of three men from the Springfield College men's track and field program that put forth their final effort for qualification into the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet on Saturday afternoon.
Hansen posted a time of 22.15 seconds to win the event, and will now await to see if the flat-track time will be good enough to get him to Boston on March 9. Along with Hansen, Damian Mackay-Morgan (Simsbury, Conn.) had an impressive showing as the sophomore posted a time of 8.40 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles prelims, before crossing in 8.45 seconds in the finals to take fourth overall.
Additionally, sophomore Cormac Tolan (Greenville, N.Y.) raced in the 800 meter run, and crossed in 1:58.48 to take 11th overall.
