Pinho and Hansen Compete at 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships

Boston, Mass. - March 8, 2019 - Springfield College's Jack Pinho (Prospect, Conn.) and Tyler Hansen (Shelton, Conn.) competed at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted at the Reggie Lewis Center on Friday.

Pinho went into the championship meet ranked No. 8 in the one mile race with his mark of 4:09.66, while Hansen was No. 19 in the 200 meter dash with his converted time of 21.76 seconds.

Pinho was first of the two competitors, as he jumped out to a fast start, posting the fastest first lap time across both heats at 31.178 seconds. From there, the graduate student eventually finished the race with a time of 4:14.60 to place 13th overall, just missing out on the finals race on Saturday. The top three in each heat, plus the next four fastest times earned a spot in the finals.

Hansen, who was in the second of five heats for the 200 meter dash prelims, posted a time of 22.25 seconds, finishing 17th overall. The top eight times in the 200 meter dash prelims solidified a spot in the finals on Saturday.
