Boston, Mass. - March 9, 2019 - Springfield College's Josh Silvester (Manchester, Conn.) of the men's track and field team made his first appearance on the national stage Saturday, as the sophomore competed in the triple jump at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted at the Reggie Lewis Center.
Silvester, who was the No. 11 seed in the men's triple jump after producing a mark of 14.43 meters, or 47 feet, 4.25 inches at the Fastrack National Invitational in Staten Island, N.Y. on February 8, took 13th overall on Saturday with a mark of 14.21 meters, or 46 feet, 7.50 inches.
Silvester produced a mark of 13.84 meters in his first jump, before extending his mark to 14.21 meters on his second, placing himself 13th. On his third attempt, the sophomore posted a distance of 14.19 meters to finish off his day.
