Men's Cross Country Places Fourth at Smith Invitational

Northampton, Mass. – September 6, 2014 - The Springfield College men's cross country team placed fourth out of eight teams on Saturday afternoon at the Smith College Invitational.

The Pride scored 123 points on the day while WPI won the invitational with 28 points.

Freshman Zack Guptill (New Milford, Conn.) and Johnny O'Hanlon (Haworth, N.J.) were the top finishers from Springfield. The pair ran the 5k course in 30:24.80 for a 28th place finish overall.

Scott Bushey (Hebron, Conn.) placed 31st for the Pride with a time of 30:42.10, followed by Joe Geurds (Albany, N.Y.) finishing 40th with a time of 31:05.10.

Sophomore, Ben Malin (Easton, Mass.) rounded out the top five for Springfield, finishing 50th (31:36.80).

Springfield will race again on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
