O'Hanlon Paces Men's Cross Country at NEWMAC Championships

Franklin Park, Mass. - November 1, 2015 - Johnny O'Hanlon (Haworth, N.J.) led the Springfield College men's cross country team at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Championships at Franklin Park on Sunday. The Pride placed 5th out of 8 teams on the 8K course, with a total of 146 points.

O'Hanlon's performance led to earning All-Conference honors for the first time in his career as he finished in 11th place in a time of 26:20. 

Jack Pinho (Prospect, Conn.) clocked in at 27:06 for a 22nd place finish, while Jacob Simons (Naugatuck, Conn.) crossed the line in 28:50 for a 53rd place finish. 

Owen Ross (Closter, N.J.) completed the course in 29:22 and 63rd place, followed by Ben Malin (Easton, Mass.) in 29:47 and 71st place. 

MIT won the title with 17 points, while WPI placed second with 49 points and Coast Guard placed third with 82 points. 

Up next, Springfield travels to Williamstown, Mass. to compete in the ECAC Division III Championships on Saturday, November 7th.
