Men's Cross Country Competes at Purple Valley Classic

Williamstown, Mass. - September 24, 2016 - The Springfield College men's cross country team competed in the Purple Valley Classic on Saturday afternoon, a meet hosted by Williams College, and placed 17 out of 23 teams in the field, totaling 539 points on the day.

Junior Jack Pinho (Prospect, Conn.) claimed the top spot for the Pride, as he crossed the finish line in 27:49.2, while senior Ben Malin (North Easton, Mass.) followed with a time of 28:58.6. Sophomore Owen Ross (Closter, N.J.) finished among the Springfield College runners with a time of 29:03.5, while in fourth, sophomore Tyler Cronin (Melrose, Mass.) crossed the finish line in a time of 29:18.4.

Rounding out the group, sophomore Zack Guptill (New Canaan, Conn.) finished with a time of 29:30.3, freshman Chris Tringali (Millville, Mass.) posted a time of 29:54.5, and sophomore Oliver Johnson (Monson, Mass.) notched a 30:59.6.

The Pride will be back in action on Saturday, October 8 at the Earley Classic in Westfield, Mass.
