Ross and LaChance Named to Inaugural NEWMAC Cross Country All-Sportsmanship Teams

Boston, Mass. - November 1, 2016 - Springfield College's Owen Ross (Closter, N.J.) and Macayla LaChance (Peabody, Mass.) were selected to the inaugural New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Cross Country All-Sportsmanship Teams.

New to the conference this year, the NEWMAC has established an All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2016-17 Academic Year. The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.

Ross helped lead the men's cross country team to a fifth-place finish at the conference championships last Saturday, while LaChance was a part of a women's squad that took eighth in the NEWMAC Championship race.
