Boston, Mass. - April 24, 2017 - Springfield College's Kirsten Drobiak (Griswold, Conn.) of the softball team was recognized by the New England's Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) for her impressive performances this past week, as the junior was named NEWMAC Softball Co-Player of the Week, announced on Monday.
Drobiak, a junior infielder and Physician Assistant major at Springfield College, led the Pride to a 4-1 week, including a win over Wheaton and a doubleheader sweep of Wellesley on Sunday. On the week, Drobiak was 11-for-19 (.579) with an on-base percentage of .600 and slugging .895. The junior Physician Assistant major cracked three doubles and drove in seven runs on the week, including a career-best five RBI in game two against Wheaton.
Up next, Drobiak and the rest of the Pride will host a non-conference doubleheader with Keene State on Wednesday, April 26 at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
