Springfield, Mass. - April 22, 2019 - Springfield College's Alexyss Conley (Bloomingburg, N.Y.) was honored for her impressive performances against Westfield State and Babson, as she was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Softball Athlete of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon.
Conley, a junior infielder and Physical Education major at Springfield College, had an incredible week for the Pride, leading the maroon and white to three wins, including one over regionally-ranked Babson on Friday. Conley hit .538 going 7-for-13 at the plate with six RBI on two home runs and one double. In a 7-6 win over Babson, Conley went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored as she played a crucial role in the important NEWMAC victory. In a 15-0 win over Westfield State, Conley produced four hits, which was a career-best mark for the junior.
Conley and Springfield College will return to action on Tuesday, April 23 when the Pride travels to Smith College for a 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. doubleheader.
