Goslin Named NEWMAC Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week

Springfield, Mass. - January 7, 2018 - Springfield College's Alex Goslin (South Windsor, Conn.) has been honored for her impressive play last week, as the junior point guard was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon.

Goslin, a Math and Secondary Education major at Springfield College, was impressive this past week, as in three games she averaged 11.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.7 assists. In the Hampton Inn West Springfield/Naismith Classic, Goslin notched 11 points to go along with three rebounds, and three assists against Bates, before notching six points, four rebounds and two assists in a 64-60 loss to Vassar.

In the Pride's 77-54 win over Wheaton this past Saturday, Goslin posted a game-high 18 points to go along with three rebounds, three assists and a career-best seven steals, five of which came in the fourth quarter to seal the victory, resulting in the Pride remaining unbeaten in NEWMAC play.

Goslin will lead the Pride into its next contest, as the maroon and white will host Coast Guard on Tuesday, January 8 at 12 p.m.
