Springfield, Mass. - January 17, 2017 - Springfield College's Jessica Clemens (South Setauket, Mass.) has been recognized for her impressive performance this past weekend, as the sophomore earned National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) East All-Around Gymnast of the Week honors, announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Clemens, a sophomore Sports Biology major at Springfield College, was terrific this past Sunday in a quad meet with RIC, Brockport and Ithaca,, as she won the All-Around competition with a career-best score of 37.575, including an individual victory on the uneven bars with a career-high score of 9.600, and a fourth-place finish on the balance beam with an identical mark of 9.600. The sophomore also notched a 9.425 on vault and an 8.950 on her floor routine on the afternoon.
Clemens, along with the rest of the Pride, will return to action on January 28 when it travels to Brockport, N.Y. for a dual meet with the Golden Eagles at 1 p.m.
