Boston, Mass. - February 2, 2017 - Springfield College's Allie Goddard (Acton, Mass.) of the women's lacrosse team has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) SuperFan of the Month, announced by the conference offices on Wednesday afternoon. Goddard, an avid supporter of Springfield College Athletics, was honored for the month of January.
The Superfan of the Month Award is an initiative by NEWMAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the campus SAAC groups at our 11 member institutions. The goal of the honor is to promote good sportsmanship through the conference and recognize those who support their favorite teams and represent their institutions respectfully.
Goddard, a sophomore English major at Springfield College, brings energy and passion to every Springfield College athletics contest that she attends. Her vibrant and bubbly attitude, as well as her ability to inspire all around her has undoubtedly caught the attention of the Springfield College community, and has helped develop a culture of attendance at home games that has increased compared to years past.
Also a sophomore on the Springfield College women's lacrosse team, Goddard is first in line to participate in half-time contests, and other promotional events that Springfield College has to offer. Additionally, Goddard is currently involved in our Student-Athlete Leadership Team (S.A.L.T.), which can be compared to other institutions Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
