Springfield, Mass. - May 29, 2018 - Springfield College's Shelby Corsano (Bourne, Mass.) of the women's lacrosse team was honored for her outstanding career with the Pride, as she was selected to play in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Senior All-Star Game, hosted at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, June 2.
The Division I game will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Division II game, which will begin at 1 p.m. The Division III teams will cap off the event with their game beginning at 2:30 p.m. Games are to be streamed on IWLCA-tv.com. A total of 132 student-athletes across all divisions were selected to represent their institutions at the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game, with 44 from each Division.
Corsano, who recently earned a Bachelor's degree from Springfield College in Health Science, was one of five student-athletes from New England named to the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game, as she was also the lone representative from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).
Corsano had quite the 2018 campaign, as she set new Springfield College women's lacrosse program records for points in a single season (87), goals in a single season (64), points in a career (240) and goals in a career (189). This year, Corsano notched 87 points on 64 goals and 23 assists, leading the Pride to its first-ever at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
Corsano, who also earned Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) First Team All-Region accolades earlier this month, also picked up 25 ground balls, secured 113 draw controls and caused 15 turnovers in the 2018 season. Additionally, Corsano was named Second Team All-ECAC and NEWAC First-Team All-Conference following her senior season.
