Stone Named NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week

Springfield, Mass. - April 8, 2019 - Springfield College's Andie Stone (Burlington, Conn.) of the women's lacrosse team was recognized for her standout performances over the past two games as she was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Stone, a senior defender and Nutritional Science major at Springfield College, was a force defensively for the Pride in two wins this past week, as she totaled nine caused turnovers, five ground balls and one draw control, while anchoring a defensive unit that held opponents to just eight goals per contest. On the year, Stone is ranked No. 3 in the NEWMAC with 24 caused turnovers and No. 4 in the league with 29 ground balls.

Up next, Springfield College will continue NEWMAC play when it visits Smith College on Wednesday, April 10 at 6 p.m.
