Springfield, Mass. - October 12, 2016 - Springfield College is set to host the 100 Years of Swimming and Diving Celebration on November 18-19, 2016. As part of the celebration, there will also be a dedication of the Charles e. "Red" Silvia All-America Exhibit.
There will be multiple events throughout the weekend, including a chance to spend an afternoon watching the Springfield College women's and men's swimming and diving programs compete against Keene State and Wheaton College in the Art Linkletter Natatorium.
The celebration will begin with a Swimming and Diving Social at the Hilton Garden Inn, before the dedication ceremony on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Pool Foyer. A Swimming Dedication Brunch will take place at 11 a.m. to honor Charles E. "Red" Silvia '34 G'40 who coached swimming at Springfield College from 1937-1977.
Following the meet at 1 p.m., there will be a Post-Meet Social at 4:30 p.m., where attendees can visit with current swimming and diving student-athletes and fellow alumni, followed by a Pre-Dinner Social, where attendees can spend time connecting with former teammates, alumni, and friends of the Springfield College swimming and diving program.
Finally, on Saturday night, there will be a Swimming and Diving Dinner, where we will recall a century's worth of fond memories and humorous anecdotes, while enjoying the company and fellowshipo of swimming and diving alumi and friends. The dinner will begin at 7:30 p.m.
