Cambridge, Mass. - February 24, 2017 - Sierra Skaza (Belchertown, Mass.) of the Springfield College women's swimming and diving team competed in the 2017 NCAA Division III Northeast-North Regional Diving Championships on the one-meter board on Friday afternoon at Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center Pool on the campus of MIT.
The 27-diver field competed for the chance to dive at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, during March 15-18, 2018, at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
With a total score of 425.20, Skaza dove to an eighth-place finish on the afternoon.
After all 11 dives, Wellesley College sophomore Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) won the event with a score of 520.85. MIT's Morgan Matranga (Moraga, Calif.) and RPI's Madeline Miller (Yardley, Pa.) took second and third with scores of 465.50 and 447.40, respectively.
Skaza will return to action tomorrow to compete on the three-meter board, with competition beginning at 12:00pm.
