Springfield, Mass. - March 24, 2018 - Springfield College's Sierra Skaza (Belchertown, Mass.) capped off her first trip to the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships by earning Honorable Mention All-America honors on the three-meter board on Saturday afternoon.
Skaza qualified for the consolation finals after posting the 10th-best score in the prelims with a 441.50. Skaza then scored a 399.75 in the evening session to earn the first all-america honor of her career. The Psychology major became the 19th women's diver in program history to earn the national recognition.
The Pride also had two swimmers race for the final times in their careers as Delaney Dyjak (Ludlow, Mass.) and Christine Shea (Peabody, Mass.) each represented Springfield on the national stage. Dyjak, who previously earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 100 fly this week with a record-breaking performance, registered a time of 52.35 in the 100 free to finish 34th in the event. Racing in her third event of the week, Shea competed in the 200 breast and turned in a time of 2:22.97 to place 28th in the 40-competitor field.
