Women's Track and Field Competes at Springfield College's Maroon and White Classic

Springfield, Mass. - January 21, 2017 - The Springfield College women's track and field team hosted the nine school meet Maroon & White Classic. The Pride was again led by Courtney Luscier (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Carly Markos (Wallkill, N.Y.), as the junior and senior each claimed another first place finish in their events.

Sarah Skillin (Fall River, Mass.) also finished first in her event, as the senior ran a 2:27.05 in the women's 800 meter run. Luscier ran the 60 meter dash in 7.92 seconds, earning her a first place spot in the event. The junior also claimed fourth place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.15 seconds.

Markos finished first in both the women's shot put and women's weight throw, registering a 40 foot 2.25 inch throw in the shot put, and 54 foot, 1.75 heave in the weight throw. Senior Rachel Kaliff (Enfield, Conn.) completed the triple jump with a leap of 33 feet, 2.5 inches, which earned her a second place finish on the day.

Freshman Alexandra Pratt (Pawcatuck, Conn.) claimed second place in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 9.5 inches. Freshman Kathryn Rowe (Mansfield, Mass.) earned a third place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.54.

The Pride's next meet is on Jan. 28 in the Massasoit Classic.
