Women's Track and Field Wraps Up Indoor Regular Season at Boston University Valentines Invitational

Boston, Mass. - February 11, 2017 - The Springfield College women's track and field program wrapped up its indoor regular season at the Boston University Valentines Invitational on Friday and Saturday. 

Leading the Pride was the duo of Courtney Luscier (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Carly Markos (Wallkill, N.Y.), while Luscier posted a 12th-place finish in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.87 seconds, while also registering a time of 26.15 in the 200 meter dash. Markos, the reigning ECAC Division III New England Women's Field Athlete of the Week, posted a third-place finish in the weight throw, recording a distance of 58 feet, 11.25 inches, while also posting a distance of 39 feet, 2.25 inches in the shot put.

In the 800 meter run, Sarah Skillin (Fall River, Mass.) posted a time of 2:20.57, while Abbie McCann (Northborough, Mass.) competed in the 500 and crossed in 1:25.54. Kathryn Rowe (Mansfield, Mass.) had an impressive meet, as she notched a time of 26.86 seconds in the 200 and 1:00.23 in the 400.

On Saturday morning, the Distance Medley Relay team of Skillin, Macayla LaChance (Peabody, Mass.), Kristen Madeia (Berlin, Conn.) and Marie Harrington (Limerick, Maine) recorded a time of 12:49.76.

Up next, Springfield College will compete in the Division III New England Championships, hosted by MIT, next Friday and Saturday.
