Markos and Luscier Compete in Day One of NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships

Naperville, Ill. - March 10, 2017 - Springfield College's Carly Markos (Wallkill, N.Y.) and Courtney Luscier (Pittsfield, Mass.) competed in the opening day of the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted at North Central College on Friday.

Markos, who qualified for the national championships in the 20-pound weight throw, posted a heave of 54 feet, 2 inches to finish 16th overall in the events.

Luscier, who is making her second-consecutive trip to the national stage, put forth another impressive performance in the 60 meter prelims, as the junior posted a season-best time of 7.71 seconds to take seventh overall and earn a spot in the 60 meter dash national championship race to take place on Saturday, March 11 at 2:45 p.m.
