Dewhurst Makes Debut in NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship in High Jump

Boston, Mass. - March 9, 2019 - Springfield College's Chloe Dewhurst (Lancaster, Mass.) of the women's track and field team made her collegiate debut at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted at the Reggie Lewis Center on Saturday.

Dewhurst was been sensational for the women's track and field program this season, as on February 16 the freshman jumped 1.72 meters, or 5 feet, 7.75 inches, to not only move her up to No. 4 in all of Division III, but also break the Springfield College indoor women's track and field program record, which was originally held by Vanessa Copp, who jumped 5 feet, 7.5 inches in 1984.

At the national championship meet, Dewhurst cleared 1.58 on her first jump of the day, but failed to clear 1.63 meters, placing 17th overall with a mark of 1.58 meters, or 5 feet, 2.25 inches.
