Lexington, Ky. - July 17, 2018 - The Springfield College women's volleyball team was one of 173 programs throughout Division III to be recognized with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. This marks the seventh-consecutive season that the Pride has been recognized for its academic achievements.
The award recognizes those programs maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. This academic year, Springfield's women's volleyball student-atheltes combined to produce a 3.55 GPA.
A total of 465 collegiate women's volleyball programs spanning Divisions I, II, and II received the honor and Springfield was one of three teams from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) to earn the team academic honor.
The Pride will begin the 2018 campaign on August 31 when it kicks off the Springfield College Invitational against Westfield State at 5:30 pm.
