Women's Cross Country Wraps Up Season at NCAA Regional Championships

Westfield, Mass. - November 12, 2016 - The Springfield College women's cross country team wrapped up its 2016 campaign at the NCAA Division III Regional Championships, hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday morning. 

The Pride finished 29th overall with 847 points, while New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe MIT earned a first-place finish with 68 points. Following the Engineers was Williams with 71 points, Tufts with 79 points, Middlebury with 149 and Bates College with 167.

Finishing first overall among Springfield College runners on the day was senior Marie Harrington (Limerick, Maine) who finished 80th overall with a time of 23:06.74, while she was followed by Rachael Seymour (Red Hook, N.Y.), who crossed the finish line in 24:28.37. Rounding out the top five for the Pride was Chelsea Dubin (Holliston, Mass.) with a time of 24:37.00, Sarah Skillin (Fall River, Mass.) with a time of 24:40.91, and Emily Giardino (Bellingham, Mass.) with a time of 24:54.06.

The Pride's final two runners were Hannah Wunderlich (Methuen, Mass.), who crossed in 24:57.53, and Laura Volan (Scarborough, Maine), who notched a time of 25:23.00.
