Danbury, Conn. - November 8, 2018 - Four Springfield College student-athletes were recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for their outstanding play during the month of October.
In women's soccer, Kaleigh Dale (Mansfield, Conn.) was named the ECAC Division III Women's Soccer North Rookie of the Month, as she recorded seven goals and three assists for 17 points in the month of October. She helped the Pride to lock up the No. 2 seed in the NEWMAC Championship Tournament, and pushed her season total to 17 goals, which is tied for the most from a freshman in Springfield College women's soccer program history.
Stewart Frank (Pittsford, N.Y.) was instrumental in the Pride's success in the month of October as he collected ECAC Division III Men's Soccer North Defensive Athlete of the Month honors. He compiled a record of 5-0-1 and posted a goals-against average 0.63. Frank also posted a pair of shutouts to push his career total to 27, a Springfield College men's soccer program record.
The Springfield College field hockey team had two student-athletes recognized, as Kyra Ashe (Longmeadow, Mass.) was tabbed the ECAC Division III Field Hockey North Rookie of the Month, and Amanda Nusbaum (Conway, N.H.) picked up ECAC Division III Field Hockey North Offensive Athlete of the Month. Ashe had a stellar October, scoring 11 goals, three of which were game winning goals. In total she accumulated 23 points and currently is the second-leading scoring freshman in all of college field hockey. Nusbaum during the month of October accumulated 17 total points, including three goals and 11 assists to push her season total to 23 helpers, the seventh most in the history of Division III field hockey.
